Stainless Steel — Corrosion Resistance for Demanding ServiceStainless steel contains at least 10.5% chromium, which forms a self-repairing oxide layer that resists corrosion, staining and oxidation. It is the material of choice for food processing, chemical plants, pharmaceuticals, architecture and any application where hygiene or long service life matters. Melting, Rolling and FinishingStainless grades are melted in electric arc furnaces with strict control of alloying elements, continuously cast and then hot-rolled. Pipe and tube are produced welded (with the weld seam annealed and tested) or seamless from pierced billets. Cold rolling improves surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Final processing includes pickling and passivation to restore the corrosion-resistant oxide layer, followed by surface finishing and 100% dimensional inspection.

Selecting the Right Stainless GradeChoose 304/304L for general food, architectural and industrial use. For seawater, brine, aggressive chemicals or coastal exposure, specify 316/316L. If the material will be welded, always order the L (low carbon) versions to avoid sensitization. For high-temperature service up to 850°C, 321 stabilized grade is the standard selection. What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel?316 adds molybdenum (about 2–3%), which significantly improves resistance to chlorides and acids. It costs more but is the right choice for marine, coastal and chemical service. 304 is sufficient for most food and general applications.
Do you provide EN 10204 3.1 certificates for stainless steel?Yes. Stainless steel products ship with EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates stating the heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical properties, which is required for pressure equipment (PED) and food-contact documentation in the EU.
